We hand select items based on what our customers are in the market for. Your items are then researched, attractively priced, and then displayed in a fashionable and well-lit setting.

Seasonal intake:

• Spring/Summer items accepted February – July
• Fall/Winter items accepted August – January

We do not accept: fast-fashion or low-end brands, items with excessive wear, alterations that affect fit, outdated styles, uniforms, undergarments, or clothing with odors such as smoke, mildew, or perfume.

Presentation matters: neatly hung, wrinkle-free clothing helps us evaluate and price your items faster. Avoid bringing items in bags or bins whenever possible, as they tend to wrinkle and delay processing.

Tip for higher resale value: bring coordinating outfits, sets, or pieces that match current seasonal trends. Shoppers love complete looks!

All consignments are accepted by appointment only. Please call (919) 552-9344 to schedule your drop-off. We hand-select items based on our current customer demand and boutique standards.

Serendipity Consignment Boutique will select only the highest quality women’s pre-owned clothing.

All items must be freshly laundered, odor-free, and on hangers (hangers will be returned at the end of your visit). We accept New With Tags (NWT) and New Without Tags (NWOT) garments that show little to no signs of wear.

Items must be free from stains, rips, tears, piling, pet hair, fading, missing buttons, or broken zippers. Clothing should be current in style—generally within the past 2–3 years—or timeless classic pieces in excellent condition.

Accepted apparel: dresses, tops, blouses, pants, jeans, skirts, suits, blazers, outerwear, loungewear, athletic wear, and seasonal pieces that reflect today’s trends or enduring elegance.

Preferred brands: Lilly Pulitzer, Anthropologie, Free People, Loft, Ann Taylor, Eileen Fisher, Michael Kors, J.Crew, Chico’s, Talbots, Banana Republic, Lululemon, Athleta, and similar high-quality labels. Designer pieces such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, or Tory Burch are also welcome when authentic.

Jewelry we love: fine & fashion pieces including sterling silver (.925), gold (10k+), gold-filled, vermeil, gemstone and pearl styles, and high-quality costume brands. All stones must be secure; clasps and extenders should function properly.

Handbags & wallets: leather and premium vegan leather from contemporary and designer labels. We look for clean linings, working zippers/snaps, minimal corner wear, and intact straps/handles. Please empty all pockets before drop-off.

Belts, scarves & hats: on-trend styles in excellent condition. Silk scarves (e.g., Lilly Pulitzer), structured/felt hats, and statement belts with quality hardware are strong sellers.

Watches & sunglasses: accepted when authentic and in great shape. Watches should be running (new battery preferred) with extra links if available. Sunglasses should have light to no lens scratches and straight arms; include cases if you have them.

Shoes: gently worn or like-new heels, flats, sneakers, boots & sandals. Please bring them cleaned (soles wiped, insoles fresh, laces tidy). Original boxes/dust bags are a plus but not required.

Brands that perform well here: Coach, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Free People, Madewell, J.Crew, Lilly Pulitzer, Ralph Lauren, Frye, UGG, Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita, and similar contemporary or luxury labels.

Serendipity Consignment Boutique will price your merchandise to bring you fair market value while offering good value to our customers.

Name brand items are kept for a two-month-long consignment.

All designer items and jewelry are kept for a six-month long Consignment.

High-end designer Formal wear may be kept up to 6 months.

Pricing will be determined by age, label, condition and demand. Consignors will receive 50% of the selling price for a period up to 60 days.

Consignors have the option to pick up their items or have them donated to a local women’s organization if they do not sale.

Items left beyond 60 days will become the absolute property of Serendipity Consignment Boutique. (excluding some High-end formal wear)

Serendipity Consignment Boutique reserves the right to mark down items as needed unless otherwise pre-negotiated with the consignor.

Checks are mailed on the 20th of every month, assuming the Consignor has a minimum of $50 in their account. There is a $1.50 fee to have a check mailed.

Consignor has the option to pick the check up in the store at any time, regardless of the dollar amount, for no fee.
